JA52 is a special issue featuring the architecture of 2003. Many large-scale redevelopments provide a historically unparalleled amount of offices in central Tokyo. Architects ideas are being sought not only for large scale projects such as these, but also for a variety of scales and locations. Each project differs in construction time, building method, and building use; however all have the common posture of seeking new possibilities through building. This issue reports about 50 architecture which express one side of the architectural scene in Japan.
