In the interview, Tokyo-based architect Shinichi Ogawa shares his thoughts on minimalism and how his residences can accommodate a range of human desires.

Asked why his houses often lack windows that view onto the street, he explained that they come about as a result of an effort to enhance the residents’ experience inside the home.

Lastly, he introduces a couple of his most recent projects: Treform – designed in collaboration with Manabu Chiba and Ryue Nishizawa – and the 150-meter House,  a villa currently under construction in Thailand.
