What payment methods do you accept?

We usually only accept credit cards. However, if you would like to pay using a different method, please contact International Business Department via e-mail (ja-business@japan-architect.co.jp)  for more information.
 

Where do I order your publications?

You can purchase publications in our Online Shop. Back issues may be purchased from the following merchants:Bookshops Agents.pdf  (Please contact them to check availability).
 

In what currency will I be charged?

We accept payments in three currencies: US Dollars, Euros, and British Pounds. You can select the currency for your payment at checkout. All prices will be converted from the price in Japanese Yen. Exchanging rates are synchronized with the "Daily Conversion Rate" from the European Central Bank. 
All transactions will be handled in USD through Authorize.net. This means if you choose to check-out in GBP or EUR, you will see the total amount in GBP or EUR, however the actual transactions will be carried out in USD.
 
If you credit card account is in a currency other than US Dollars, you may be charged at a different excahnge rate than what is quoted on our website. You may also be subject to a foreign currency transaction fee. Please consult your bank or credit card provider if you are unsure. We are not responsible for the exchange rate of any charges your bank or issuing credit card company may charge you.
 

What shipping options are available?

All physical online orders are shipped as follows:
 
Air courier: Door-to-door delivery within 1 week.
Registered airmail:  doorstep delivery within 2 weeks.
Standard airmail: Letter box or envelope delivery within 2 weeks.
 
Orders are normally shipped within 1-2 business days.
Subscription magazines are usually processed for dispatch prior to the publication date.

No, this online shop is available for customers those who live in outside Japan. If you would like to place orders from Japan, please visit our Japanese website (www.japan-architect.co.jp).
 
How can I purchase your magazines and books that are only sold in Japan?
If you want to purchase our Japanese products that are not available for sale through this website, please e-mail us: ja-business@japan-architect.co.jp . We’ll be happy to assist you in English.
 

Can I return/change my order?

As a general rule, we do not offer exchanges or offer refunds if you change your mind about your purchase.
 
If the item delivered is not the item ordered, or is soiled, ripped, or otherwise damaged due, please email proof of the faulty item (email us a photo) and we will ship a replacement for no additional cost. In the event that item is not in stock or is out of print and no replacement is available, payment will be refunded in full.
 
If the wrong item is being delivered, the shipping costs incurred in returning the item will be borne by us.
 
*If more than one month has elapsed since dispatch by airmail, or more than 7 days has elapsed since dispatch by air courier, no exchange or return of products will be possible.
 
Exchange or return of items is only possible for unused items.
 
Once your order has been placed, it is not possible to alter or cancel the order, or to combine additional orders into one shipment, or  to separate orders into multiple shipments,.
 

How do I change the address for my subscription? -IMPORTANT

Please inform us your new address via e-mail (ja-business@japan-architect.co.jp) by 10 days prior to the next issue’s sale date. For nondeliveries caused by your failure to inform us the new address, we do not send replacement copies.
 

How do I change my account information?

You can change your account information at the upper-right corner of the website (login reguired).
 

How secure is my online order?

When purchasing online using your credit card, all of your information is entered into a SSL secure web page. Your information is then SSL-encrypted and sent directly to our credit card provider's network, where your card and transaction is authorized and approved. Your credit card information is not stored on our servers. If you still do not wish to transmit your credit card details by Internet, you are welcome to transmit them by e-mail  (ja-business@japan-architect.co.jp)
 

What is a Coupon Code? How to use it?

Coupon Codes are occasionally distributed to our newsletter subscribers and magazine readers. Subscribe to our newsletters.
When you order at online shop, scroll down to the lower portion of the delivery address page and enter it in the Coupon Code box and click on ‘Continue to next step,’ If your code is valid, you will see the code that has been activated.

Does the Online Shop issue receipts?

When you make a purchase on the Online Shop, your payment is processed through the credit card company, so as of the present we are unable to issue a receipt. Please refer to the statement you receive from your credit card company.
 
 

How long do products stay in the Shopping Cart?

What you put in the Shopping Cart remains there until you log out or close your browser. Please be aware that you will be automatically logged out if you do not access the site for a certain period time.
 

Is it possible to have multiple member accounts?

You need a unique email address to get an account. It is possible for one person to register more than one account, but you cannot register the same email address.
 

Is it possible to buy back issues from 1999 and earlier?

We do not currently sell back issues from 1999 and earlier.
 

Are you planning to reprint a+u February 1998 Extra Edition Peter Zumthor?

We have received many inquiries regarding this, but there are no plans to print another edition.
